AMIT PATHAK


He is a Fellow of History from the Centre for Military History and Conflict Studies (Formerly Centre for Armed Forces Historical Research), United Service Institution of India, New Delhi. He is also a practicing radiologist working in the field of gastrointestinal ultrasonography.

He is a Senior Fellow of the Centre for Military History and Conflict Studies (Formerly Centre for Armed Forces Historical Research), United Service Institution of India, New Delhi. He is fluent in Hindi, English, Assamese and is an avid student of History, Culture, Radiology, Linguistics, Archaeology, Sociology, Anthropology etc.

He has been continuously working since 2001 on various aspects of the Great Uprising of 1857 and studying the history & culture of Western Uttar Pradesh. He has also been recording and preserving the oral as well as documented folk renditions of this rapidly urbanizing region. He has many publications to his credit in the above fields of study including three books on history and culture. At present he is working on books linked to the Military History of India (1000AD to 1800AD), 1857 Uprising in Western Uttar Pradesh and the anti-colonial Uprisings of North-East India.

He is a practicing Radiologist focusing on Gastrointestinal Ultrasonography and Nephrology / Urology as well as interventional ultrasonography. He has many publications to his credit in this field and is at present working on a book on Hepato-Biliary Ultrasonography.
